Birstall and Rothley do it again!

Inspired by the success of their Saturday devoted to Elgar, Birstall and Rothley Branch have just delivered another musical event, this time looking at the life and works of Rachmaninoff. Last Saturday, 9th November, a capacity audience of 45 assembled in the Old School Rooms at Rothley to hear Barry Collett talk on “Rachmaninoff – the Man and his Music”.

The day was divided into four sessions, with committee members providing light refreshments during the intervals. Barry selected a wide variety of Rachmaninoff’s music to illustrate his talk, and his audience were very enthusiastic in showing their appreciation. At the end of the day the committee members received lots of compliments and requests for similar events in the future.
