Great day at the University of Leicester Botanic Garden
We certainly struck lucky with the weather at our last forum on May 17th; the previous and following Saturdays were dreadful but we had glorious sunshine. Director Richard Gornall’s talk was fascinating and sparked lively discussion about genetic modification of crops. Our two charming volunteer guides showed us many of the garden’s delights, including some which we would certainly have missed, had we been on our own. Everyone there voted it a lovely day, and some us who were new to the garden vowed to return at other times of year to sample new delights.
